Weekends come and go, but its weekends like this where Wrestling fans cant loose with such a wide array of shows.
This Saturday features 3 big shows in New England starting with Rampage Pro Wrestling making its return in the State of Maine in Patten. This FREE show marks the return of a staple in Maine State Wrestling and will feature RPW regulars Sonny Soprano, Cameron Matthews, Hardware, and others.
Next up is the AWA who will feature a double header at the Newmarket Fair in Newmarket, NH. Coming off of a hot show with the debut of Greg "The Hammer" Valentine this old school Wrestling organization will be sure to entertain under the tent.
Perhaps the stand out of the 3 shows is Chaotic Wrestling's "Summer Chaos: Rising Tide" featuring one of the weekends best match's between Billy K. and Luis Ortiz in a Last Man Standing Match for the CW Heavyweight Title. Hard to imagine Ortiz loosing the strap after his wars with Walters but Ive long said that Billy K. is the #1 rising prospect in the region. Should be a match not be missed. Summer Chaos will also feature Vince Vicallo in a grudge match with Arch Kincaid, and the long awaited Tag Team showdown between Attrition and Booker & Armadillo.
Sunday, a day often as stagnant as a Tuesday for Wrestling, is as hot as the humidity level in New England this weekend. First off is a New England mainstay in Power League Wrestling. PLW is continuing their "Great Outdoors Tour" with an event in Cumberland, RI to benifit Youth Sports.
In Boston NECW will be having their 3rd Anniversary Birthday event. If nothing else the main event is worth the price of admisson as Maverick Wild defends the NECW heavyweight title against Brutal Bob Evans, Alex Arion, and Antonio Thomas in a 45 minute Iron Man Match. These kind of bookings are what sets one event and company apart from the crowd.
One of the best cards on paper will be Assault Championship's ANGER RISING 2: RETRIBUTION. This card features some great matchs such as a hardcore battle of the Mutilators as Jaime Pain and Nemesis square off. The Great American Champion Devito defends against the returning Slyk Wagner Brown. This interesting clash of styles could make for a great match. An unexpected match but a great one non the less will feature John Walters taking on Dr. Heresy for the #1 contendership for the ACW Heavyweight title. This is a match I've personaly waiting a long time to see that promises to be a classic show-down between the current PLW and EWA champion, Heresy and the former EWA & CW Champion Walters. With the victor taking on the winner of the main event it would appear that ACW's next event will have one hell of a main event! The potential of a Walters vs. Kage rematch from the Invitational (match of the event in my opinion) is great! Topping off the event is a best of 3 falls between Johhny Thundar and Dylan Kage. This main event could be the sleeper for match of the entire weekend. Great chain, high speed, and higher impact this match should take the show on an amaizing card...if the rain holds out!
With a weekend of great action every fan should be at an event this weekend, where will you be?
