CPW makes its much anticipated return with MELTDOWN at Good Times Emporium in Somerville Massachusetts on Saturday night September the 2nd. Doors open at 7pm for the pre-show, and the main card begin at 7:30.
The last time that Jose Perez and Louis Ortiz stepped into the ring together all hell broke lose in their #1 contender’s match. Perez and Ortiz brawled to a draw at the last CPW show when the referee threw out the match. Thus the main event at Meltdown is a 3-way match with CPW Champion Madden Fisher (Formerly Jerk Jaxsyn) for the title. One can only imagine what will happen when the champ will be thrown into the mix in this elimination style matchup. Fisher successfully has kept his title away from John Walters, Slyck Wagner Brown, and Vordell Walker, but he has never been faced with two opponents at once. Anything can happen in this one.
The matchup that needs no hype is Jason Blade vs. “Hurricane” John Walters. Both of these men called the CPW offices looking for a shot at Fisher's title. Both men have to get past their opponent at Meltdown in order to get a shot at Fisher's belt at the next show.
As a preview to our upcoming Young Lion's tournament, Pelle Primeau will be facing Jon Thornhill. Expect a lot from these exciting young up-and-comers, as both men have great backgrounds. Pelle was trained by ROH/ECW star CM Punk, and Jon is coming off of a run alongside veteran Tracy Smothers.
Up In Smoke, Cheech and Cloudy, were victorious at CPW's last show
Winter Warfare. In a much talked about incredible scramble match, they defeated The Outcast Killers, Azrieal & Pinkie Sanchez, and Jon Thornhill and Japanese Star Ranmaru. Therefore, the CPW office offered both men the opportunity to book their own matches at Meltdown. Cloudy was quoted saying that he wanted to have an "easy night" so he asked for a matchup with Chikara's Matt Turner. Matt Turner may not be as easy an opponent as Cloudy may think. Turner has taken down such enemies as Davey Andrews, Beef Wellington and even The Bear.
Cheech called up his old buddy Javi Air (trained by the SAT). The
roof at Good Times Emporium may not be high enough (no pun intended)
for when these two square off against each other.
The Dempseys are looking to show Somerville what tag team wrestling
is all about when they face off against Rhett Titus (who recently tagged
with the Monster Abyss) and Mitch Franklin.
NWA Cold Front's X Division Title will be on the line as Matt Ledge
faces off against CPW's Osirus. Anything can happen in this matchup
due to the animosity brewing between the two promotions. Can CPW take another company's title as the entire northeast watches?
Veteran and CPW Head Trainer the Widowmaker has asked for the opening match at Meltdown to showcase his students’ abilities in a gauntlet match. Self proclaimed "Mr. CPW" Craig Trace has been rumored to not be so keen about being in the opening match. The Gauntlet will take place at 7pm once doors open.
This is sure to be an exciting action-packed show that you won’t want to miss!!!
